Practice Swords

When sparring or performing in stage combat, most fighters prefer not to use sharp, live steel blades to minimize the risk of injury. To that end, we offer a number of Practical sword designs, created in high carbon steel by Hanwei, which are unsharpened versions of many of our other sword designs. These Practical versions also have scaled-down decorative work to make for very inexpensive practice or stage fighting weapons. We also offer two solid hardwood wasters, or wooden practice swords, which can be used in place of steel weapons for sparring or for stage fights that don't require steel weapons.

Practical Hand-and-a-Half Sword An unsharpened hand-and-a-half-style sword made by Paul Chen/Hanwei. This is the "standard" sword used by many practitioners of longsword fighting arts!	Practical Norman Sword A Practical design not borrowed from any existing sword, but rather from the general shape and size of the swords common to the Norman warriors.
Practical Knightly Sword An unsharpened single-hand arming (or "knightly") sword, made by Paul Chen/Hanwei.	Practical Viking Sword An unsharpened Viking-style practice sword made by Paul Chen/Hanwei.
Practical Basket-Hilt Broadsword A double-edged-style Scottish broadsword in practical form, designed for safe practice and stage combat. Made by Paul Chen/Hanwei.	Practical Basket-Hilt Backsword Nearly identical to our Practical Basket-Hilt Broadsword, but the Backsword design is single-edged.
Practical Side Sword Adapted from our sharp, battle-ready Side Sword, this version is unsharpened and designed for sparring, practice use, and stage combat.	Practical Mortuary-Hilt Sword Our Practical Mortuary-Hilt Sword is based on our Mortuary Hilt Sword design, but with the un-sharpened features required for safe combative use.
Practical Scramasax A Practical version of our !!<<a href="CI-SH1075.html">Saxon Scramasax</a>.	Practical Fencing Longsword (Federschwert) A uniquely-styled training sword common throughout the Renaissance.
Practical Scottish Court Sword A Practical version of our Scottish Court Sword, this version has an unsharpened blade and scaled-down details, making for an inexpensive sword usable for sparring or stage combat!	Practical Washington Fencing Sword Another Practical take on our Scottish Court Sword; this version is styled after one carried by George Washington during the American Revolution.
Two-Handed Hardwood Waster A two-handed, solid hardwood waster. Many sword schools use this as their preferred practice weapon!	One-Hand Hardwood Waster A single-handed version of our popular Two-Handed Hardwood Waster.
