Jian and Tai Chi Swords

The jian or Chinese straight sword is best known for its association with tai chi or taiji, though this blade style has seen much use with many Eastern martial arts. Our versions are handcrafted of high carbon steel and are ready to be used for stage combats, live steel martial arts battles or demonstrations, or any other use which you can imagine! These swords are crafted by Hanwei under the direction of Paul Chen, the legendary Chinese sword smith.

Ultra-Flexible Tai Chi Sword This tai chi sword has an incredibly flexible blade which, when properly used, creates a very loud "Water Song" vibration!	Tai Chi Sword This sword is our basic tai chi jian; available in four blade lengths and handcrafted by Hanwei in strong, durable high-carbon steel.
Adam Hsu Series Jian These are the upgraded versions of our regular Tai Chi Jian; designed (and used!) by renowned Chinese martial-arts master Sifu Adam Hsu, they are a step up in quality. Available with either fibreglass or hardwood grips and scabbards and in four blade lengths, these carbon steel blades by Hanwei will serve you long and well in your martial arts career!
