One of the most vital pieces of a warrior's armor is the helm, as it protects his most important organ. Helms have evolved from early steel skullcaps to the massive plated great helms of mounted knights, the fearsomely-wrought kabuto of the Japanese samurai, and the graceful, rounded close helms common during the Renaissance. However, no warrior would wear just a helm - even though it helps distribute the force of a blow and will prevent the head from being cut or slashed, a substantial amount of force will still transfer directly to the skull - so we offer a selection of padded hats called arming caps which help cushion the weight of the helm and protect the skull from solid blows.
