Medieval & Renaissance Weapons

Though the sword gets a lot of attention as the stereotypical medieval warrior's weapon, the truth was that a lot of soldiers, men at arms, and other fighting men fought with whatever they could get. Some weapons, such as maces and spears, were upgrades of ancient weapons used since the dawn of man; others, like flails and axes, were agricultural tools turned to war. We offer a number of types and styles of medieval and Renaissance weaponry, from hammers to bows, axes to spears, pole weapons to flails, and even Eastern weapons from naginata to kama to war fans.

Many of our weapons are made of high carbon steel and are usable for re-enactment or combat purposes!

Crossbows The crossbow is a weapon with a long and storied history. Easier to use than a longbow and with greater puncturing power, the crossbow was the preferred ranged weapon of many armies throughout the ages.	Axes Once a humble tool, the axe evolved into a formidable companion for the battlefield. A staple weapon of the barbarian, the berserk and the heroic fantasy warrior!
Medieval Bows Before the advent of accurate, durable firearms, the medieval long-bow was the most powerful weapon in the world, capable of punching through heavy armor or striking a target hundreds of feet away. Get yours here!	Hammers, Maces, and Flails Bludgeoning weapons were very popular throughout history, due to their ease of manufacture and use. The warhammer was an adaptation of the common tool, as was the flail (originally a farmer's implement for threshing grain). The mace was the evolution of the simple club, eventually becoming highly decorative in addition to lethally functional.
Spears and Polearms Specialized tools for mangling your foes outside the reach of their weaponry! (Also useful against cavalrymen.) Many armies had units composed entirely of polearm-wielding warriors for use against an opposing force's mounted cavalry.	Unique Eastern Weapons The practice of the Asian martial arts has resulted in the development of quite a few weapons that might strike the average Western warrior as unusual, but which were still used to deadly effect in the hands of a skilled martial artist. Here we have collected weapons unique to the Far East that don't easily fit our other categories, such as kama, jitte, and war fans.
