Effigy SwordEffigy Sword Ref: MR-501100
We have taken this sword from the funeral brass of Sir Roger Elmbrygge as a prime example of a sword used for thrusting. Though it's wide enough to cut, armor had become so well-made by this period that only small areas of the body were unprotected and a sword with a sharp point was needed to find them. A knight’s best armor and weapons were always chosen to be represented on these grave etchings and this sword is a beauty of form and function. The parts are gleaming brass, the grip is wood with leather cord and the sharply-tapered blade is from fully-tempered high-carbon steel on this well-balanced, one-hand thrusting sword. Scabbard included. Can be sharpened for additional charge.
