Reverse Blade Sword Ref: KE-2044
A genuine, fully functional Reverse Blade Sword! We have created an authentic Japanese-style reverse-blade katana featuring the traditional hand-braided diamond-pattern cord wrap upon a shimmering silver fabric with four-dragon menuki inset. The blackened steel tsuba and pommel are hand-pounded. The sharp, functional high-carbon steel reverse blade is mounted with a traditional copper habaki, which attests to its quality. The scabbard on this reverse blade sword is hand-made from wood and covered in rich black leather.

For those unfamiliar with the reverse-blade sword, the blade's edge is placed opposite where you'd normally see it - along the inside of the blade, while the wide, unsharpened edge is placed on the outside. These swords were crafted to deliver a powerful stunning blow, rather than a slicing cut, though they retain the razor-sharp edge of a traditional katana.

This unique weapon is hand-forged in the old style, over hot coals! Each tsuba (handguard) and kashira (end cap) are hand-pounded in solid steel and fire-blackened for an authentic look. Blade is 27" long, 1-5/16" thick, with an overall length of 38". Weight is 2lbs., 12oz.
