Late Gambeson
By the 15th century as weapons became
lighter, faster and stronger, it became increasingly important
that a fighter be more agile to stay alive. Often referred to
as a "jack", this heavily padded garment provided adequate
protection when worn with tall boots, a helmet and hand protection.
Large, roomy shoulders allowed for superb mobility. Especially
favored by the line soldier who fought in formation using pole
arms. This well padded garment hangs approx. 36" and weighs
a mere 1 1/2 lbs. Black only. Choose M, L or XL.
